An exercise in redundancy - 2600 point Blood Angel list.


Mercer came around the other night and soundly thrashed my Blood Angels (again). But as we were talking he suggested the possibility of having a 2600 point game against his orks (mainly so he could use his stomper). So I thought I'd put a list together.

  1. Your points can't be right on the HG - 225 for a single plasma gun and jump packs. Packs alone takes them to 155 ish.

  3. I am guessing your honour guard is 4x Plasma/CCW? Not 1 as listed

    Only 7x Bolt Pistol and CCW in assault squads (melta replaces pistol). I meant to mention this in your last list...

    If those Tac squads are going to stay parked in your Razors - I would recommend using Assault Squads instead. Gets you a discount on the Razors (saves you 25 points all told) and you can take a special weapon if you need...

    On the subject of vehicles - (not counting the Land Raiders - orks have issues with them, and will probably just ignore them) your whole list has only three - and none of them have particularly tough armour... Ork lootas will tear them up without even trying, as will rokkits. You could reasonably expect to lose all three fairly quickly against a skilled opponent. And I think we both know Mercer qualifies as such... I would recommend just dropping them completely and just taking more squads (either Assault of Devs). Besides - the Land Speeder just seems out of place to me by itself.

    On the topic of Devastators - you have only one. They have no real redundancy, and in a large game like this I don't know if they will be able to pull their weight effectively without support.

    Also a little light on troops for 2600pts I feel. I think I would like just a little extra myself, but that is just me.
