The flamer assault squads pair off with a meltagun squad, and the honour guard jump to where their fire power is needed the most. All the while the Devs are giving fire support with missiles.

The land speeder is a bit of a one trick pony. It's job is to charge at the biggest nasty on the board, turbo boosting to get the 3+ cover save, and then unleash melta or flamer death depending on what sort of target it's up against. It will more than likely only get one chance to do this as it'll be pretty much toast after it fires.

All comments are welcome.

(p.s. I'll post tonight battle report tomorrow)

  1. Landspeeder only gets a 4+ cover save from moving flat out (3+ is for Bikes)...

Even with the cover save, the Speeder could easily get shot down before it gets a shot off because of it's threat potential, and the fact that it's in their face. If your intention is to draw fire away from the rest of your force, or try and do a little bit of blocking, then great. Otherwise I would maybe drop it, and see if you can scrap together 10 points and increase your Devastators to 10 men letting you combat squad and split their fire...

I am not particularly fond of the Librarian I must confess. Are you planning on getting him into combat? Or sitting back with the honour guard and taking potshots with plasma and lances? Because you can't do both - and either way one of his upgrades is wasted. Since his powers are both used in opposite turns, the Epistolary upgrade only lets him use his force weapon. Which means you are lancing and charging (and wasting your plasma), or shielding and being charged - neither of which are good (Blood Angels NEED their charges)... Otherwise you are sitting back and spitting mass quantities of plasma, which means your Epistolary status is largely unneccessary (not good for a 50pt upgrade). I would reccommend dropping either the Epistolary upgrade (you could buy a 2nd Speeder), or dropping the Combi-plasma and joining him to an Assault Squad instead (and using the 10 points for the Devastator upgrade mentioned earlier). Or my favourite - Option 3: drop the Epistolary upgrade (cuz it's expensive and under-utilised here) AND the Combi-plasma (cuz you can't fire it and use lance in the same turn, and you have 4 plasma already), and have 60pts to play with... Devastator upgrade AND a basic Speeder? Power weapons/fists for flamer squads? YOU decide!!

On the topic of Combi-weapons, I would consider giving the Reclsiarch a hand-flamer instead, letting you keep that bonus power weapon attack in assault (where he sooo wants to be), and not being a one shot wonder either...

All in all though, these are only minor little details, and mainly a matter of personal taste. I think this is a solid list all told. Lots of bodies (most of them from the all important troops section). Four FNP/FC bubbles. Lots of special weapons, and the mobility to utilise them effectively. It is good to see your list building continue to grow, while still not losing any of your personal flavour...

Hope my comments help some anyway... Let me know what you think...
